VORTEX MAIN PACKING AMENDMENT TO STOWING OF BRIDLE NOVEMBER 2013
For safety reasons and as problems with other products have been recorded, where the pin has penetrated the bridle causing a lock of the main container with pilot chute in tow, we have amended our system to exclude the Velcro Patches and the amended packing instructions are below.
Closing a Vortex without Velcro Patches on the Throw-out system
Step one - Close the bottom flap and route the bridle to the RIGHT, with the pin UPPERMOST (curve should be facing to the left).
Step two - Close the top flap. Leave about 7.5cm (3 INCHES) of bridle to the pin.
Step three - Close right side flap and then left side flap.
Step four - Fold the bridle at the base of the pin and insert it into the closure loop to lock the container shut. Only push the pin three quarter way in! Make sure that the closure loop is the correct length and there is enough pressure on the pin.
Other steps - Stow the pilot chute and tuck away the small amount of excess as shown in the manual.
